Rebekka Johnson is most known for portraying "Dawn Rivecca" on Netflix’s critically acclaimed, award-winning series GLOW. Rebekka was twice nominated, along with her co-stars, for a SAG Award for “Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series”. As a writer/director, she continues to create funny and challenging work in all mediums. She wrote, directed, and starred with Kate Nash in the short film Wild Bitch, which premiered to rave reviews at SXSW and won “Best Thriller” at Hollyshorts in 2022. Rebekka’s previous short film, Consent, a Short Comedy About a Serious Subject was an official selection at 15 festivals, and won 4 awards including 1st place at the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal. She served for four years as director/writer of the critically acclaimed digital series, Speakeasy With Paul F Tompkins.

On the TV side, Rebekka previously sold a project to PopTV with CBSTV and Rachel Bloom attached, and rejoined her frequent collaborator, Kate Nash, to write and direct Bad Rabbit, a short for Hulu’s 2022 Bite Size Halloween series. In the feature space, Rebekka co-wrote and directed the comedic feature film Step Aside which is in post-production. Additionally, her rom-com screenplay Patent Pending, is currently in development with Four Leaf Productions. She is also developing a show for the UK with Kate Nash and Atlantic Nomad.

You can see Rebekka on stage with her award-winning musical comedy trio, The Apple Sisters. She also co-hosts a comedy variety show, The Retreat, every other month at the Lyric Hyperion and will be taking it to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this summer!

Rebekka lives in Los Angeles but she's from Staten Island, so the accent and trash talk come natural to her.
